The Mendip District Council has opened the Shape Mendip Lottery Community Fund for applications.
The Shape Mendip Lottery Community Fundsupportsnot-for-profit organisations in the provision of services to improve the lives, health and wellbeing of people who are residents in Mendip, and to help such organisations and projects to become sustainable and more self-sufficient.
Funding Information
- The fund, which shares the proceeds of the Shape Mendip Lottery, gives Mendip organisations the chance of securing a grant of up to £1000 towards projects benefitting the Mendip community.
Eligibility Criteria

The project must be:
- Non-profit making
- Benefit people who are residents inthe Mendip District Council area
- Provide inclusive services
- Be financially sound, but unable to self-fund.
- The project must also help achieve at least one of the council priorities as:
- Make Mendip a fairer place
- Deliver on their climate and ecological commitment
- Protect and enhance their towns and rural communities.
Ineligible

They are unable to support the following:
- Individuals
- National charities and appeals
- Sponsorship and fundraising events
- Promotion of religion
- Promotion of political parties
- Non charitable organisations or activities
- Statutory services
- Activities requiring retrospective funding
- Projects where funds are distributed to a third party
- Activities discharged to a third-party provider
- Organisations with an annual income over £250,000.
