The U.S. Embassy in Kampala, under the auspices of the Office of the Regional Refugee Coordinator, is pleased to announce the availability of a funding opportunity through the Julia Taft Refugee Fund.
The Julia Taft Refugee Fund is an initiative by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) to respond to critical unmet needs of refugees. Created in 2000, the Julia Taft Refugee Fund awards grants with the goal of supporting one-time interventions that respond to gaps in refugee services. The Julia Taft Refugee Fund supports projects not already being addressed by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) or other international organizations.
Funding Information
- Requested funds cannot exceed more than $25,000 USD. The 12-month performance period will begin July/August 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Julia Taft Refugee Fund is limited to registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with at least 1-2 years of experience working in Uganda. Preference will be given to local NGOs.
