Patagonia is seeking applications for its Korea Grants Program to support diverse grassroots environmental groups and activists who are keen to defend nature and work tirelessly to solve problems.
Patagonia is funding organizations that create a solid foundation of public support. They work to preserve local cultures and customs, work to protect forests, rivers or wildlife, and help organizations seeking the most effective way to communicate special and complex issues such as biodiversity and ecosystems to the public.
Patagonia’s environmental funds are used only for the protection of nature. They are interested in small organizations that work to find the root cause of environmental problems and devote themselves to making change over time.
Funding Criteria
Patagonia funds work that:
- Activity based
- Based on the participation and support of ordinary citizens
- Strategic work
- focused on root causes
- work to achieve specific goals and objectives
- Supported countries: Korea, USA, Canada, Japan, Chile, Argentina, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Luxemburg, Italy, Ireland, Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Czech Republic
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant’s organization must be operated for the public good
- Applicant’s organization must have charitable status in the country in which their organization is located, or have a fiscal sponsor with such status. Please note that Patagonia does not require international organizations to have U.S. 501(c)(3) status or a fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status.
- Applicant’s organization, or their fiscal sponsor, must have a bank account for business purposes in the name of their organization
- Patagonia does not fund:
- General environmental education
- Land acquisition, land trust, preservation easement related work
- Studies not related to specific activities for solving environmental problems
- Environment-related meetings
- Fund for donation
- Political campaigns
- Green Building Project
- Non-profit non-tax organizations
