Terre des hommes Albania (Tdh), in partnership with the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution & Reconciliation of Disputes (AFCR) and Terre des hommes Foundation (Hungary), has been implementing ‘Civil society in action to build restorative approaches and practices for children & youth in conflict or contact with the law’, a project funded by the European Union under the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights.
In the framework of this project, a Call for Proposals under the Sub-Granting Scheme is now open for all eligible organizations to apply.
The Call for Proposals’ main objective is to support CSOs and other non-governmental bodies at the local level to work with children/ youth in conflict with the law, their families, and other community stakeholders related to this issue by implementing restorative approaches and mediation as a tool towards rehabilitation and reintegration in Albania.
Objectives
- The overall objective of this Call for Proposals is: “To support and enable CSO’s in Albania to advance the implementation of restorative approaches & prevention of imprisonment of children/ youth in conflict with the law”
- This is to be promoted through concrete actions with local stakeholders, including local authorities, schools and families in order to engage at grass-root level CSO’s in building an approach on restorative justice and to design and implement alternative programs restoring delinquent behaviors of children/youth in conflict with the law aiming their reintegration in the society.
- The specific Objective of this Call for Proposals is: “To support and enable CSO’s to design and implement restorative programs for children/youth in conflict with the law”.
Results
The expected results to be obtained under this call are:
- Increased technical and management capacities of CSOs under the sub-grant scheme to develop and implement restorative approaches and prevention programs and activities;
- Increased organizational and project development capacities of CSOs under the sub- grant scheme through a series of training sessions and an individualized program of technical assistance;
- Project management experience will enable the CSOs to further develop human and child’s rights of children/youth in contact/conflict with the law as well as further design and implement restorative programs;
- CSOs under the sub-grant scheme will create a network of CSOs which will be active in supporting the implementation of restorative approaches, practices and programs for the children/youth in contact/conflict with the law;
- CSOs under the sub-grant scheme will be able to design and implement innovative restorative programs for children/youth in conflict with the law potentially to be further replicated in future initiatives.
Target Group: children/youth in contact/conflict with the law, their families and local community stakeholders involved and responsible for the implementation of the restorative approaches;
Final Beneficiaries: children / youth in contact or in conflict with the law, their families and communities supported through local interventions part of the sub-grant scheme, will be the ultimate beneficiaries.
Funding Information
- The overall indicative amount made available under this Call for Proposals is EUR 100,000.
- Any grant requested under this Call for Proposals must fall between:
- Minimum amount requested: EUR 5,000
- maximum amount requested: EUR 10,000
- The planned duration of an action may not be lower than 6 months nor exceed 8 months.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a sub grant, the applicant must be a Civil Society Organization established and acting in the territory of Albania, compliant with all the clauses listed below. Participation in procedures awarding sub-grants is governed by specific eligibility criteria referring to rules on nationality, as well as exclusion criteria.
- the applicant must be:
- a non-governmental and non-profit-making organization
- be legally established in Albania, and
- directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action, not acting as an intermediary
- Co-applicant(s)
- The Lead applicant may act together with a co-applicant. Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant. Co-applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant. If awarded the grant contract, the co-applicant (if any) will become beneficiary in the action.
