The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) is seeking applications for the fifth round of the Domestic Grants Program.
The Taiwan Democracy Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Association) aims to encourage domestic academic circles, think tanks, civil non-governmental organizations and other related organizations (not including profit-making organizations) to promote activities related to democracy and human rights, and to promote awareness of democracy and human rights. The research and publication of human rights theory and practice, in order to improve the quality of Taiwan’s democracy and strengthen the country’s integration with international democracy, the main points of this book are specifically formulated.
Project Categories
- Activities related to democracy and human rights promoted by academic institutions, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations (excluding for-profit organizations).
- Seminars and public forums related to democracy and human rights, as well as activities related to democratic education.
- Research and publications related to human rights and democratic development.
- Activities that contribute to the international development of democracy and enhance the quality of democracy in Taiwan.
- Other activities that can increase the visibility of Taiwan and help Taiwan to integrate with the international community.
Funding Information
- Major subsidy cases (referring to cases in which the expenditure of a single case of the Association exceeds NT$500,000 or more) must be submitted to the Board of Directors of the Association for review and approval.

- Officially registered non-governmental organizations (excluding for-profit organizations)
- Departments and institutes or other official units of universities and colleges
Notes
- In the consideration of fairness in the allocation of resources, each institution (or person in charge of the institution) shall be limited to one grant per year.
- The same activity shall not be subsidized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is the competent authority of the TFD, at the same time.
- In principle, activities and projects subsidized by the TFD cannot be extended to the next year and must be completed and closed by November 30 of the current year.
