Deadline: 9-Jul-23
TGV Community Development Fund is a pool of funding available for trans, gender diverse, and non binary peer support projects and activities.
Transgender Victoria highly encourages applications for grassroots initiatives and small-scale projects; there is no minimum amount of funding that you need to request for a project or activity and they’ve seen small-scale projects have massive impacts.
Funding Information
- A total of $55,000 is available for this round of funding.
- The maximum funding available is $8k, and there is no minimum amount you can request. Funding is available annually.
What they are offering?
- Beyond financial assistance, they will provide opportunities to engage with training across areas that trans and gender diverse communities have asked for including trauma informed practice, burn-out and self-care, facilitation skills, grant writing, fundraising, marketing and job-seeking support.
- They will also support networking and community connection by convening events in which peer-support projects can be shared along with strategies for dealing with conflict, technical and logistic challenges and sustainability.
What they are looking for?
- All projects will need to specify how they engage with and uplift marginalised trans and gender diverse people at the intersections. They especially encourage projects that support urgent community priorities including but not limited to:
- disability (spanning physical disabilities, mental health, (in)visible and complex trauma needs)
- incarceration
- rural and regional isolation and connection
- sex-work and other stigmatised employment
- neurodiversity
- QTIBPOC
Eligibility Criteria
- Anyone with an idea of how to support trans and gender diverse communities is encouraged to apply for a support package. Previous recipients of SPIIBI funding or Trans Peer Support Packages are able to apply.
- They understand that sometimes organisations leading these activities may not be trans and/or gender diverse led, however support packages are able to support the trans and gender diverse participants of funded programs.
- If you are applying for the maximum funding, your application needs to address how you plan to:
- collaborate across sectors or groups
- benefit a cross section of trans and gender diverse communities across the urgent priority areas
- build sustainability beyond this funding and into 2024 (i.e plans for other funding sources, partnerships, sponsorship etc.)
- share your tips and tricks with other peer-support projects
