The Embassy of Canada in Zimbabwe is seeking proposals for its Canada Fund for Local Initiative (CFLI) 2017-2018.
The CFLI funds small but visible, high impact, result-oriented projects implemented by local civil society organisations (CSOs) and other grassroots orgnisations.
2017-2018 CFLI Priorities
Projects MUST fall within at-least one of the 2017-2018 CFLI priorities:
- Empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality
- Championing inclusive and accountable governance, peaceful pluralism, and respect for diversity, and human rights;
Emphasis will be placed on innovative, accountable and sustainable projects. Initiatives aimed at producing concrete results will be prioritized over sensitization workshops and training sessions with limited audiences.
Funding Information
The Majority of the funded projects will receive between C$12,500 – C$22,500.
Term of Projects
All projects must be completed between the date of signature of the Contribution Agreement and 28 February 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
- Local academic institutions working on local projects;
- International, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organisations and agencies working on local development activities;
- Municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient country working on local projects; and
- Canadian non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations that are working on local development activities.
