The Global Grants Environment Facility (GEF) Grants Scheme (GPP) is currently inviting NGOs and CSOs to submit project proposals in the areas of interest of the program:
- the conservation of the terrestrial landscape at community level;
- smart climate-friendly innovative agroecology;
- local and global chemicals management coalitions;
Small Grants Program (SGP) of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) provides grants of up to $ 50 000 non-governmental organizations and community organizations (NGO / CBO) countries developing to enable them to addressing global environmental challenges while addressing the need for sustainable development. The SGP motto is “community action with global impact!”.
Objectives
The main objectives of the Small Grants Program are:
- the development at Community level of strategies and the deployment of technologies that could reduce environmental threats if replicated over time;
- collecting lessons from community experience and initiating the exchange of successful strategies and innovations at Community level between NGOs and community organizations, authorities, development aid agencies, GEFs and other actors active at regional and global scale;
- building partnerships and networks of people interested in supporting and strengthening communities, NGOs and national capacities to address global environmental issues and promote sustainable development;
- Ensure the understanding and implementation of global conservation and sustainable development strategies and projects by communities and other key stakeholders.
Funding Information
The SGP grant should not exceed US$50,000.
Eligible Organizations
Only local nonprofit organizations can apply.
