Deadline: 24-Apr-23
The Community Foundation for Staffordshire is now accepting applications for its Malam Fund For Individuals.
The Malam Fund is an amalgamation of 3 separate former trusts; The Edward Malam Convalescent Fund, The Heath memorial Trust and The John Pepper Fund. The remit of all three were broadly similar, but applied to different areas of Stoke on Trent. By merging the three together it has created one fund, in line with the original remits, that can be used across the whole city.
The Malam Fund will make awards to individuals across the city of Stoke on Trent, and in some neighbouring areas, such as Biddulph and Cheadle in the Staffordshire Moorlands and Kidsgrove in Newcastle under Lyme. The donor advisors will consider awards to neighbouring areas, but there is no obligation to fund these.
Awards can be made to people who need a holiday or a break away, for the purposes of respite, convalescence, to recover from a recent traumatic event or where there would be a benefit to the physical or mental health of an applicant. The fund will make awards to single people and to couples, and will pay for the cost of accommodation. On rare occasions a contribution to transport may be provided. Package deals that include transport and food costs are considered as a single application and can be funded entirely, (subject to the maximum award limits).
