Apply for the Foster Family Fund to support the projects of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that carry out studies with the aim of expanding the foster family and adoption systems in order to prepare the children under the protection of the state for life in a safe and loving family environment and to grow up under a family-based care, Merve Üretimmen , KRM is implementing it in cooperation with Management Consulting and Turkey Mozaik Foundation , with the support of individual and corporate donors.
Funding Information
- The total amount of the grant to be distributed to NGOs within the scope of the fund is at least 400,000 TL . The Evaluation Committee reserves the right to not positively evaluate the applications made within the framework of the criteria and if it deems necessary, or to increase or decrease the amount of the grant to be distributed.
- Duration: Maximum 12 months.
What are the priority issues sought in applications?
- Applications to the Foster Family Fund are expected to include at least one of the following approaches to support children living under state protection and/or individuals involved in the adoption, foster family or adoption process:
- Aiming to increase, promote and expand the quantity and quality of family-based care, foster family and adoption systems,
- Producing visual, written and audio content to support the understanding that being a foster family or adopting is a way to start a family,
- Establishing support and solidarity mechanisms for foster families and individuals in the adoption process/system,
- Supporting parents and children in foster families and families established through adoption,
- Providing psycho-social support for families and children in the foster family and adoption system,
- Aiming to increase the participation and representation of the child in the foster family and adoption system,
- Projects for the needs of individuals, families, NGOs working on the issue or children within the foster family and adoption system, which emerged after the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake, will be prioritized.
When can organizations that are entitled to receive a grant use the grant?
- In case the information and documents required for the signing of the contract are provided by the applicant, the grants will be transferred to the organizations by bank transfer in 3 installments in line with the following rates:
- Initial Payment: 50% of the total budget,
- Second Payment: 40% of the total budget,
- Final Payment: 10% of the total budget, after acceptance of the final report.
Eligibility Criteria
- Associations, foundations, cooperatives and other non-profit organizations established in Turkey*,
- Organizations that have been actively working in the field for at least one year,
- Organizations with 2022 revenues between 40,000 TL and 4,000,000 TL,
- Organizations with experience, institutional capacity and vision in the relevant field.
- (*) Professional chambers, bar associations, social assistance and solidarity foundations, companies, universities, public institutions and local administrations and structures without legal personality cannot benefit from the fund. However, it is possible for the applicant institutions to cooperate with these institutions and organizations.
What rules apply regarding the spending of grants?
- Grants should only be transferred to an account for expenditures related to this grant. All expenses must be made against invoice or receipt and by bank transfer. Supported organizations are required to keep invoices of their expenditures under the grant for three years. If deemed necessary, a financial audit may be requested by the Support for Civil Society Foundation.
- Co-financing with non-governmental organisations, municipalities, public institutions and the private sector is possible and encouraged; but it is not mandatory.
- Human resources costs, together with their legal taxes, are considered eligible expenditure items.
- Granting grants to third parties, cash and/or scholarships are not eligible budget items.
