The Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), a component of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking applications from eligible entities for a program entitled “2019 Resource Center on Workplace Responses to Assist Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence Solicitation”.
OVW administers grant programs authorized by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and subsequent legislation and provides national leadership on issues of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. OVW grants support coordinated community responses to hold offenders accountable and serve victims.
By statute, this award provides for the establishment and operation of a national resource center on workplace responses to assist victims of domestic and sexual violence. The Resource Center on Workplace Responses to Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence (Resource Center) provides information and assistance to employers and labor organizations to aid in their
efforts to develop and implement responses to such violence.
Program Scope
Activities supported by this program are determined by statute, federal regulations, and OVW policies. If an applicant receives an award, the funded project is bound by the provisions of this solicitation, the DOJ Financial Guide, including updates to the guide after an award is made, the section of the Solicitation Companion Guide entitled “Post-Award Requirements for All Federal Grant Recipients,” and the conditions of the award.
Purpose Areas
Pursuant to 34 U.S.C. 12501, funds under this program must be used for one or more of the following purposes:
- Provide training to promote a better understanding of workplace assistance to victims of
domestic or sexual violence; - Provide conferences and other educational opportunities; and
- Develop protocols and model workplace policies
Award information
Awards under this solicitation will be made for up to $1 million for 24 months of activity.
Eligible Applicants
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.
