The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) is seeking applications for its program “Advancing Palestinian Youth Educational and Community Engagement Opportunities” that will assist in the advancement of higher education opportunities for financially disadvantaged Palestinian youth in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza to ultimately foster future leaders who create positive change in their communities.
Objectives
- Enable Palestinian youth to build their leadership skills and increase their involvement in their communities, thus enhancing their employability and ability to further contribute to their communities.
- Prepare talented, economically disadvantaged Palestinian students for the U.S. college application process.

Estimated Total Program Funding:
- Award Ceiling: $500,000
- Award Floor: $250,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include U.S. or foreign non-profit organizations; for-profit organizations; private institutions of higher education, public or state institutions of higher education; and public international organizations.
- Applicant organizations must have prior experience and expertise in the program description of activities in the MENA region.
- NEA/AC strongly encourages applications from organizations headquartered in the MENA region.
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
