The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) is currently inviting organizations interested in submitting proposal applications that seek to support and enhance connectivity in South Asia.
Through the provision of technical assistance and the promotion of regional cooperation, U.S. assistance focusing on issues relating to economic growth and trade facilitation, security, and environmental resource management will facilitate sustainable, broad-based, and participatory development outcomes over the long term.
Proposed projects will focus on countries in the South Asia sub-region (India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) that SCA has prioritized for assistance.
Applicants should submit proposals that support SCA’s goal of fostering South Asian connectivity, and demonstrate the applicant’s capacity and ability to manage projects.

Funding Information
- (Project 1) Approximately $490,000 for a South Asia Regional water and agricultural pollution technical assistance initiative.
- Minimum (“Floor”) Award Amount: $300,000
- Maximum (“Ceiling”) Award Amount: $490,000
- (Project 2) Approximately $195,000 for a South Asia Regional Connectivity Conference.
- Minimum (“Floor”) Award Amount: $100,000
- Maximum (“Ceiling”) Award Amount: $195,000
- Applicants should include an anticipated start date between September 2017 – December 2017, and a planned period of performance of 18-36 months for each project respectively contained herein.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- Foreign public entities
