Deadline: 10 August 2019
The U.S. Embassy Conakry’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) has announced that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Grants Program.
Funding Information
- Award Ceiling: $50,000 USD
- Grant projects generally must be completed within one year.
Criteria
PAS seeks to fund programs or projects that meet one of more of the following criteria:
- Programs that enhance the quality of, and/or access to education for Guinean youth.
- Programs that offer vocational or other job training to unemployed post-high school aged Guinean youth, preferably with job placement assistance.
- Programs that target disenfranchised Guinean youth, utilizing mentorship, education and/or job placement assistance (for those of working age) to alleviate poverty and increase self-sufficiency.
- Programs that identify and/or create internship opportunities for Guinean youth to increase their employment prospects.
Eligible Applicants
PAS seeks applications from American or international non-governmental and/or non-profit organizations already operating in Guinea, who have experience administering programs funded through grants, and are able to submit the required reporting documentation, in English, if selected. Proposals must be for new programs or the expansion of existing projects or programs, and not exclusively to fund existing programs which are already funded through other sources.
Cost Sharing or Matching
When cost sharing is offered, it is understood and agreed that the applicant must provide the amount of cost sharing as stipulated in its proposal. PAS encourages, but does not mandate, that applicants include cost-sharing elements from additional sources in support of their proposals
