The U.S. Embassy in Australia is currently inviting Australian organizations and individuals for its Small Grants Program to increase mutual understanding between the U.S. and Australia and promote the bilateral relationship.
Topic Areas
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- U.S. policies, society, culture and values
- Cultural diversity
- Academic integration and advancement
- Promotion of STEM
- Countering violent extremism
- Global challenges such as climate change, clean energy, human rights, economic development, health, LGBTI issues, and marginalized populations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications from a variety of individuals and organizations are welcome, including but not limited to:
- non-governmental/civil society organizations,
- think tanks,
- educational institutions or subsets thereof,
- non-profit organizations.
- Prior programmatic experience is desired, along with experience managing budgets.
The following types of projects are not eligible for funding:
- Requests by organizations and individuals who are neither Australian nor American
- Programs relating to partisan political activity
- Construction projects
- Projects that support specific religious activities
- International travel, unless specifically justified as part of the project
- Fund-raising campaigns
- Projects aiming only at primary institutional development of the organization
- Projects that duplicate existing projects.
