The U.S. Embassy in Cotonou – Benin, through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), is seeking applications for its Small Grants Program for International Exchange Alumni for all Beninese beneficiaries of U.S. government exchange programs, or non-Beninese selected for programs by the U.S. Embassy in Cotonou.
Goals
- Provide training and funding to support and promote entrepreneurship, especially among women and youth.
- Support English-language acquisition and use particularly to girls and at-risk youth.
- Enhance capacity and professionalism of Beninese press.
- Increase women’s political participation to enhance the willingness and capability of the public sector to combat violence against women, prosecute perpetrators of violence, and protect victims.
- Increase competence and professionalism in judicial sector to ensure fair and transparent application of law.
- Enhance regional border security and counter-terrorism law enforcement capacity.
- Support public sector and civil society efforts to improve Benin’s business environment.
- Promote Sustainable Environment and Biodiversity.
Funding Information
- The award floor is set at $1,000.00.
- The award ceiling is set at $3,000.00.
- PAS intends to issue an award for a period of twelve (12) months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility is open to all the beneficiaries in Benin of exchange programs from the U.S. government. Alumni may submit proposals individually or as a group.
- Previous federal award recipients who are not/were not in compliance with the terms of the award, including the financial and program reporting requirements, are not eligible for an award under the NOFO.
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure she or he is in compliance with all applicable terms, conditions, and Office of Management and Budget guidance and requirements.
