The U.S. Embassy in Moldova is inviting applicants for its “Alumni Small Grants Program” to provide seed money to qualified individuals and organizations for sustainable projects that help showcase the value of U.S. Government exchange programs to the broader Moldovan community.
The purpose of this program is to further the professional development of alumni and their colleagues, to implement and disseminate the concepts learned during exchange programs and to provide alumni with networking opportunities.
The Alumni Small Grants program is a flexible mechanism to enable American embassies to support USG alumni in sharing the experience they gained through their exchange programs and implementing best practices they learned in the U.S.
Funding Information
Funding per grant:
- Individuals – up to $10,000
- Organizations – up to $24,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility is limited to citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are alumni of U.S. Government programs, and to organizations where USG alumni fill at least one senior leadership role (president, director, executive director, board member, or equivalent) officially registered in the Republic of Moldova.
- Grant proposals must support projects that address a tangible need in a community and have measurable outcomes.
- Extra consideration will be given to projects that address the current needs of rural communities and projects implemented by groups of alumni of at least two different exchange programs.
- Applicants are encouraged to develop partnerships with relevant stakeholders including the public and/or private sector as well as local organizations, where applicable.
