U.S. Mission to Kazakhstan is seeking applications for its Small grant program that is designed to support civil society in Kazakhstan and advance the interests and will of Kazakhstani citizens.
Themes
- Promote respect for Human rights including diversity, tolerance, inclusion and youth empowerment.
- Enhance rule of law and cooperation between the government and civil society.
- Advance gender equality.
- Promote a culture of civic responsibility.
- Freedom of Media and expanded access to information, including through new media.
- Emphasize innovation in public education, health, environment, energy and public/private partnerships.
Funding Information
The maximum funding for each project is $30,000.00
Funding Criteria
Grant funding can be used to support:
- Campaigns to engage the public in socially valuable activities;
- Advocacy for solving societal issues;
- Development of proposals for legislative changes;
- Project-related salaries and honoraria including applicable taxes;
- In-country travel expenses directly related to the project;
- Supplies or equipment necessary for project implementation;
- Contracted services directly related to the project (For example: translation, design, web-design, printing, publishing of promotional materials etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-governmental or non-profit organizations registered in Kazakhstan are eligible for this program.
- Applications from organizations registered outside of Kazakhstan, commercial organizations, political groups carrying out partisan activities, and charity organizations will not be considered.
- Only one concept paper may be submitted on behalf of an eligible organization.
- Organizations funded through the U.S. Embassy Small Grants Program during 2016 and 2017 are not eligible during 2018 cycle.
