The United States Embassy in Tirana has announced a funding opportunity for a grant to implement the project “Schools as Community Centers” Pilot.
The Embassy is seeking for proposals for the development and implementation of a project, which will serve to address the most pressing issues related to radicalization and violent extremism among youth and other vulnerable communities.
The project should design and implement in a pilot format the “school as community center” model, as an effective community outreach and engagement mechanism in countering violent extremism. This project supports the Albanian Government’s community outreach and engagement national strategic priority in countering violent extremism, which encourages critical thinking, civic participation, and promotes values of tolerance through education.
Funding Information
- Public Affairs Office of the US Embassy in Tirana intent to award one grant for up to $50,000.
- The period of performance is 18 months with an anticipated start date of October 2017.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants who are eligible to apply are (U.S.) and Albanian Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), who are able to respond to the NOFO and be able to mobilize in a short period of time.
