The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is inviting eligible organizations for its funding program entitled “Conservation and Restoration of Heritage Building Complex of Erbil Citadel” to provide logistical support to the High Commission for Erbil Citadel Revitalization (HCECR) for the purpose of safeguarding a heritage building complex at the World Heritage Site of the Erbil Citadel.
The project’s overall goal is to contribute the conservation and sustainable management of the Erbil Citadel through implementing conservation and restoration activities on this building complex, ensuring revitalization of Erbil Citadel in the long term.
The Erbil Citadel is located at one of the priority areas designated for urban development and enhancement, in addition to being located at the main circuit visitor route according to the Conservation and Rehabilitation Master Plan of the Erbil Citadel.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a non-profit organization; an internationally or locally based non-profit organization; an academic institution; or other institution for which profit is not a primary motive;
- Have demonstrated experience developing and administering similar programs;
- Have the capacity to operate in Iraq and have active partnerships with organization(s) operating in Iraq needed to support the program.
