The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai (PAS Mumbai) is seeking proposals for a project entitled “Videos for Empowerment.” This project aims to use the power of online videos and social media to raise awareness and call for action on issues that are important to the U.S. government and its goal to build stronger U.S.-India bilateral ties.
In consultation with PAS Mumbai, a grantee will identify a local online video content creator to develop and implement a broad social media campaign consisting of a series of at least 12 short videos and other social media content including, but not limited to, tweets, Facebook posts, and other content that will raise awareness and call to action around key policy messages on any two of these key policy areas: women and girls empowerment, education and student exchange, environment and sustainable development, trafficking in persons, and corruption.
Program Goals
- Strengthen people-to-people ties between the United States and India through exchange of information, experiences, and expertise.
- Increase the capacity of India to address its challenges and prepare it for the future by building awareness and mobilizing people through social media on the topics of women and girls’ empowerment, education and student exchange, environment and sustainable development, trafficking in persons, and corruption.
- Generate a social media campaign consisting of content that is spread widely across audiences in India, generating broad public engagement with information and topics of interest to build stronger U.S.-India bilateral relations.
