The U.S. Embassy Kigali, Bureau of African Affairs of the U.S. Department of State is seeking applications for its program “Prevention of Malnutrition in Huye District”.
The purpose of this project is to improve nutritional behaviors and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) to combat malnutrition in Huye District. This program is part of the U.S. Government-wide planning approach to accelerate progress in nutrition.
Through the food security programs in Rwanda, the USG is helping strengthen and scale up community-based nutrition programs to prevent under nutrition in young children and in pregnant and lactating women.

Eligibility Criteria
- Participants and Audiences:
- Direct funding for NGOs (international or local) is available under this program.
- Government of Rwanda (GOR) law requires prior registration of a foreign or local organization in order to implement programs or conduct any businesses in Rwanda.
- All applicants must provide a copy of the certification of registration and license from the Rwandan Governance Board with the submission package.
- Direct funding for individuals, public international organizations, foreign governments, parastatal organizations, or U.S. Government departments and agencies, is not available under this program.
- The following organizations are eligible to apply: Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations (international or local) and educational institutions.
