Department for International Development (DFID) is seeking applications to provide grants to UK based CSOs for poverty reduction projects in developing countries.
UK Aid Match is a demand-led fund that matches public donations to appeals for development activities focused on poverty reduction in developing countries. Its objective is to give the public a say in how a portion of the international development budget is spent.
Objectives
- support the achievement of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development through financing civil society projects
- provide opportunities for the UK public to engage with international development issues and have a say in how a portion of the international development budget is spent.
Funding Information
The value of funds can be within the following range:
- £100,001 to £500,000,
- £500,001 to £1,000,000
- More than £1,000,000

- Health

- Private sector/business
- Water and sanitation
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scheme, applicants must:
- Be a UK-based non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation which delivers poverty reduction projects in one or more of the eligible countries
- Be able to provide published annual audited accounts or financial statements for the previous two years
- Submit an application that meets the minimum requirements of the communication partnership
- Ensure that the annual value of all UK Aid Direct and/or UK Aid Match grants that you hold must be less than 40% of your organization’s annual income (and this based on an average across the applicant’s three previous years’ income)
- Not be in receipt of more than 3 ‘live’ grants in the second phase of UK Aid
How to Apply
The application procedure consists of two stages:
- Applicants should submit a concept note first
- Applicants successful at the concept note stage will be invited to submit a full application.
