UN Women has announced a call for proposals for its Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) in Tonga.
UN Women plans to engage Responsible Parties (Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Based Organizations (CBOs)) to work towards the achievement of this Output, exploring opportunities for prevention work through sports for social norms change in Tonga.
Funding Information
- Proposals are expected with an indicative budget of 200,000 USD.
- Proposals are expected to cover a period of minimum 2 years/24 months to maximum 3 years/36 months.
Outcomes
The Pacific Partnership comprises three outcomes, of which UN Women will implement Outcome 2: A Transformative approach is taken to promote gender equality and prevention of violence against women and girls at the community level.
Two sub-outcomes are envisioned with corresponding outputs, as follows:
- Favourable social norms, attitudes and behaviors are promoted at community and individual levels to prevent VAWG.
- Women, girls, men and boys at community and individual levels are mobilized in favor of respectful relationships and gender equality through community-based prevention programmes.
- Government partners and civil society organisations have increased capacity to develop and implement national prevention strategies, policies and programme to prevent VAWG, including social norms change.
- Women and girls who experience violence have access to quality essential services to recover from violence.
- National actors develop and implement best practice standards and guidelines for multisector services.
- Frontline service providers have strengthened capacity to provide quality services to GBV survivors.
