The UN Women Lebanon Office welcomes proposals from eligible applicants to work on women’s political participation, women, peace and security, women’s economic empowerment and protection and social norms in Lebanon.
Focus Areas
- Women’s Economic Empowerment and Protection from Gender Based Violence through the provision of skills training, access to income generation as well as protection services
- Outcome: National authorities, private sector and CSOs are engaged in and actively support gender equality and women’s economic empowerment and protection
- Geographic areas for work:
- North
- Bekaa
- South Lebanon
- Mount Lebanon
- Other geographical suggestions welcome in the proposals
- Women’s Political Participation to support to women’s political and civil leadership
- Outcome: More women across political and civic spaces participate in decision-making spaces in Lebanon
- Women, Peace and Security, especially to support community dialogue and peacebuilding, and work to prevent violence against women and promote accountability
- Outcome: The Women, Peace and Security Agenda is implemented through an enabling environment that supports women’s participation in conflict prevention
- Social Norms work through the identification of specific contextual causes of gender discrimination and implement strategies to address these
Funding Information
The budget range for this call for proposals varies by component and can range from 50,000 USD to 400,000 USD. Proposals should be in USD.
Competencies
- Technical/functional competencies required;
- Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services
- In the selection of partners, the following competencies will be considered:
- Soundness of technical competency described in the approach to the outcome/outputs as described in the Terms of Reference for the Call for Proposals.
- Organisations with a track record of working on women’s rights and gender equality and delivering results for women’s rights in Lebanon.
- Capacity to deliver expected results: governance and management competency, and financial and administrative competency.
- Relevance of the mandate and the role of the organization to implement expected results and to contribute to the sustainability of said results.
