The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is currently inviting legally registered Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to submit proposals to provide technical expertise to the gender-sensitive transitional justice programme through digital storytelling, artistic engagement, art exhibitions, skills trainings and consultative meetings and workshops.
Activities
- Advocate to address the needs of women survivors of gender based violence (GBV) including conflict related sexual violence (CRSV) through participatory documentation of their stories through digital storytelling as a truth telling tool.
- Develop and implement a skills training package targeting 20 identified women survivors of GBV including CRSV.
- Address the harms suffered by women survivors of CRSV victims through artistic memorialization of shared experiences using artistic engagement and an art exhibition as the medium.
- Roundtable launch of a digital story telling platform in Kathmandu with survivors, representatives of UN entities and the European Union in Nepal who are working on transitional justice and CRSV in Nepal including a dialogue on memorialization, and non-judicial reparations.
Duration
The tentative duration of the assignment is from 10 August to 30 November 2017
Eligibility Criteria
- A proposal can be submitted by a legally registered non-government organization or jointly by two or more registered NGOs.
- Proposal can be submitted by an NGO/ CSO which satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and implementing programmes using storytelling to work toward the goal of women’s empowerment;
- Experience in working with UN/ development agencies through programmes in areas of violence against women including gender based violence and conflict related sexual violence, and peacebuilding;
- Experience working with survivors of gender based violence and conflict related sexual violence;
- Expertise in the advocacy of survivors of conflict including conflict related sexual violence through storytelling via digital platforms;
- Possess quality resources in the form of case stories of survivors of gender based violence and conflict related sexual violence;
- Expertise to conduct quality meetings and workshops;
- Prior experience of working with UN/development agencies.
