The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is seeking an organization to provide conceptual and logistical support in strengthening the capacities of gender coordination groups of the line ministries in line with the National Strategy for Gender Equality 2017-2021.
The NSGE’s focus is on five objectives and ten areas of interventions : women’s participation in decision-making, labour market and gender pay gap, social protection and family policies, health, education, climate change , institutional mechanism , stereotypes in the society and non-violent communication, gender equality in the security and defence sector and gender -sensitive budgeting.
Tasks
- Develop and deliver three-days training session on gender equality for up to 40 gender units within the selected ministries to strengthen the overall understanding of gender equality, gender sensitive-budgeting and how to mainstream gender equality in to sectorial policies, in line with the existing policy and legal framework and international commitments on gender equality.
- Organize 15 sectorial thematic workshops for up to 20 participants each (gender units within selected ministries and subordinated institutions) to capacities and support gender units in developing sectorial action plans for implementing NSGE 2017-2021.
- Organize final workshop for up to 40 gender units from selected ministers to present their sectorial action plans.
Duration
It is expected that the company shall begin work in November 2017 with work being completed before mid-April 2018.
Eligibility Criteria
- Officially registered legal entity with full capacity to act
- At least 5 years’ experience in advancing gender equality and human rights
- At least 3 years’ work experience in developing and delivery various types of trainings and capacity building programs, including for civil servants, in the fields of promoting and advancing gender equality and human rights including gender mainstreaming into public policies
- At least 3 years’ of previous experience conducting gender reviews, analysis, assessments and other similar exercises
- At least 3 years’ of demonstrated experience of working/collaborating with the Government sectors in assisting/supporting drafting policy recommendations/policy reports, coordinating activities
- Previous experience in working with UN Women or other UN Agencies is an advantage
- Adhere to UN/UN women general terms and conditions of payment and work.
