United Nations Development Organisation (UNDP) is seeking qualified Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to support Climate Change Response and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme implementation.
This programme therefore aims at supporting the Government of Uganda to mainstream climate change resilience and disaster risk reduction strategies in national, sub-national, local policies, plans and budgets and other instruments like fiscal and economic instruments to stimulate responsible consumption and production.
Budget Information
In alignment with the Programme Document for Community Resilience to Climate Change and Disaster Risks (CCDRR), Annual proposals amounts should range from a minimum of USD 100,000 for direct interventions in a single community/ activity; or to geographical area to a maximum of USD 180,000 for direct interventions in multiple communities/ activities or geographical area within the same country as stated in the ToR.
Expected Output
- Output1: By 2017, relevant MDAs and parliament with adequate technical capacities to:
- update and strengthen national climate change-response policies
- integrate their key components into sectoral policies and strategies
- develop all required legal frameworks that provide adequate funding, incentives and disincentive measures
- Output 2: By 2018, MDAs with adequate technical, operational and financial capacities to implement CCR/DRR policies and regulatory frameworks
- Output3: By 2018, MDAs with adequate technical, technological, operational and financial capacities to engage the private sector, LGs and CSOs in CCR/DRR.
- Output 4: By 2019, MDAs with relevant technical, technological, operational and financial capacities to engage citizens and communities in CCR/DRR.
Responsibilities
- To effectively implement and deliver tangible, impactful and sustainable results of the programme activities as stipulated in the CCDRR Programme document.
- To draft annual work plans, quarterly work plans and progress reports.
- To deliver timely accountability of the funds.
- To properly document all CCDRR Programme related activities for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible proposals will be those focused on expected outputs 3 and 4.
- The programme targets national and local level Institutions.
- Provides special focus for the Northern and Eastern regions of Uganda
- Excluded/marginalized population: e.g. Women, youth, persons with disability; people living with HIV/AIDS will be given attention
