The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is inviting proposals for Bangladesh Monsoon Flood 2020 to provide more effective, timely and predictable humanitarian support to refugees and to vulnerable communities throughout Bangladesh following disasters. It aims to strengthen the ability of the Government to meet the needs of these groups more effectively, speed up post-disaster action, and to reduce the scale and impact of disasters when they occur.
This call for proposals is released under the Emergency Response and Recovery Fund (ERRF) of the SHPR programme and is managed by UNOPS, the SHPR Fund Management Agency.
Program Objectives
- Food Security and Nutrition
Cluster Priority Joint Activities/Projects: Early Recovery Activities/Projects (ERP)- ERP 1 – Cash for work to repair breached embankments and essential community infrastructures
- ERP 2: Livelihood recovery assistance for the most vulnerable economically disadvantaged female headed HH and Persons with Disability.
- Shelter
Cluster Priority Joint Activities/Projects: Early Recovery Activities/Projects (ERP)- ERP 2: Cash for Work: Support the cash grants for housing plinth raise of the severely inundated vulnerable households Cash for Work (CfW) modality for flood affected people as per HRRP prescribed modality.
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Cluster Priority Joint Activities/Projects: Early Recovery Activities/Projects (ERP)- ERP 1: Reinforcement of activities related to access to improved water and sanitation facilities including operation and maintenance of such facilities and hygiene promotion sessions and improved safe water; panning for sustainable and resilient water and sanitation facilities (Flood Resilience of WASH facilities).
Funding Information
- The initial funding allocation of up to £1 million.
Eligibility Criteria
- Mandatory requirements:
- Proposal received on time and using the requested standard templates.
- The proposed interventions must address needs in the specified thematic area(s) with HCTT HRP for Monsoon Flood 2020.
- Authorizations:
- Partners with proven experience operating in the affected areas as defined in the Call for Proposals (CfP) will be considered.
- The proposed activities should not duplicate any ongoing similar activities but may complement.
