United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking proposals from eligible organisations for its program entitled “Strengthening the Government’s victim assistance planning capacity”.
The aim of this project is to strengthen the Government’s victim assistance planning capacity through conducting analysis of current Victim Assistance situation, collecting data about victims of explosive hazards, and assessing the capacities to provide care for the selected governorates.
Objectives
- To conduct a desk research on existing victim assistance strategies developed by the governmental and non-governmental authorities and stakeholders;
- To develop the necessary tools and mechanisms to detect and quantify and record injuries from explosive hazards in the target areas;
- To assess the capability of the existing health/rehabilitation structures to cope with the needs
- To consult with concerned authorities and other stakeholders, share results with them, and involve them in future interventions.
Grant Information
- The total budget for this grant activity should not exceed $50,000
- The duration of the activities should be a minimum of 13 weeks, starting from 15 October 2017.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only local or international organisations with experience implementing similar mine action projects in Iraq may apply.
- Only registered organisations accredited with the mine action authorities (DMA and IKMAA) will be eligible to implement activities associated with the project. Organisations with accreditation must be able to demonstrate this in the submission of their proposal. Organisations partnering with registered/accredited organisations may apply, in such case they should engage in subagreements.
- Only organisations that have track records and proven expertise in data collection, analysis, presentation and publication of data will be considered. This includes but not limited to extensive expertise in statistics and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The selected Grantee should be able to provide technical assistance and sustainable capacity development for concerned authorities regarding the results of the project.
