Applications to the Champions Fund (Europe) are welcomed from registered, not for profit organisations who wish to improve dog, or dog and cat welfare.
Dogs Trust Worldwide understands the scale of suffering faced by dogs all around the world, and they aim to support local organisations, who share their vision and values, to help improve the lives and welfare of dogs worldwide. Through their European Champions Grants, in partnership with Purina, they will support organisations across Europe to build their capacity to help improve the lives of the dogs under their care and within their community.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant that can be awarded through their Champions Fund is £10,000.
What type of projects do you fund?
- In 2023 they are accepting applications that are directed towards improving local rehoming practices. These could include requests for funds to make material improvements to existing rehoming centre/shelter infrastructure, equipment to improve the running of shelters/rehoming centres or to provide enrichment opportunities for the dogs in the rehoming centre/shelter. Applications aimed at improving local fostering/adoption programmes are welcomed.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organisation must be legally registered to operate in the country where it proposes to use the grant funds. Proof of local current registration (and date) will be required to be submitted alongside the application.
- The organisation must have an organisational bank account into which funds can be paid (they will not transfer funds into personal/individual bank accounts). There should be at least 2 signatories to the organisational bank account.
- Organisations must have been operational for at least 3 years.
What will you not fund?
- The following are not eligible for funding through the Champions fund:
- Construction of a new rehoming centre or shelter
- The purchase of land
- Ongoing salaries.
- General equipment – laptops etc, not directly related to animal welfare work
- Utility bills/vet bills/petfood
- Consumables
- Activities directly connected to international rehoming.
