Program Goals and Objectives
- The following goals and related objectives relevant for each category include:
- Category 1: State Partnership Grants
- Goal: Maintain a set of consensus-based Justice Counts metrics for each of the seven criminal justice sectors to improve the accessibility and usability of criminal justice data
- Objective 1: Enable the co-location and meaningful aggregation of data across criminal justice sectors.
- Objective 2: Use the data to drive decision making about policy and budget at the state levels.
- Objective 3: Leverage the authority and reach of state agencies to coordinate state- and sector-wide adoption.
- Objective 4: Accelerate justice system transparency and reform by supporting jurisdictions to identify and share data publicly that highlights drivers of incarceration, supervision, and racial disparities in the system.
- Category 2: Training and Technical Assistance for Justice Counts
- Goal: Deliver a range of effective and relevant TTA that enables states and the agencies and jurisdictions therein to adopt and use the Justice Counts metrics to make informed policy decisions.
- Objective 1: Relevance—Develop and deliver TTA that directly address the needs and challenges of criminal justice practitioners as users of the Justice Counts tools and policymakers as the end users of the resulting data.
- Objective 2: Effectiveness—Measure the effectiveness of TTA to ensure it is achieving the intended outcomes and making a positive impact.
- Objective 3: Engagement—Create engaging and interactive training experiences that capture the attention and facilitate learning
- Objective 4: Accessibility—Ensure all TTA are accessible taking into account background and learning style
- Objective 5: Continuous Improvement—Regularly evaluate and refine TTA to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and aligned with the evolving needs of the field.

Funding Information
- Anticipated total amount to be awarded: $6,150,000
- Anticipated award ceiling: Up to $1,000,000 per site-based award; up to $2,150,000 for technical assistance provider.
