The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Afghanistan (USAID/Afghanistan) is seeking concept papers from eligible U.S. and non-U.S. nonprofit, for profit, and educational institution interested to implement Afghanistan Job Creation Program (AJCP) over the next one to five years.
AJCP will be demand-driven and will seek to work with private sector and other relevant entities and stakeholders to achieve its objectives. The Program intends to develop these necessary skills among local partners which will be indispensable for expanding their businesses and generating income and employment, thus contributing to strengthened resilience among Afghan youth, including the returnees and internally displaced persons.
Program Objectives
The two overarching objectives of the Afghanistan Jobs Creation Program (AJCP) are:
- Generate Revenue and Sustainable Jobs by Supporting Value Chain Development in MSMEs; and
- Support Trade Promotion and Facilitate Afghan Businesses in Increasing Exports
Funding Information
- The total estimated shared ceiling budgeted for awards to be issued under this APS is $96,000,000.
- The expected size of each award to be issued under this APS will be between $2,000,000 and $10,000,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any U.S. or non-U.S. organization, nonprofit or for-profit entity, non-governmental as well as education institution is eligible to apply for this funding opportunity.
- U.S. and other international entities are encouraged to form partnerships with Afghan entities.
- USAID welcomes applications from organizations which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
