The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) mission in Haiti is requesting applications for a five-year strategic “Health Information System (HIS) program” to provide continuity to the Government of Haiti’s implementation and management of the System d’Information Sanitaire Nationale Unique (SISNU), which is an overarching comprehensive health management information system that tracks multiple indicators across a variety of health-related issues from health institutions nationwide.
The overall objective of this project is to further develop and strengthen a sustainable, comprehensive health information system within Haiti that is owned and sustained by the GOH and minimizes the need for duplicative or ancillary systems that collect similar health information.
Program Objective
- Objective 1: Build the capacity of the Ministry of Health to effectively implement, manage, oversee and maintain a comprehensive, cross-sector health management information system.
- Objective 2: Develop an e-health policy based on principles of host-country ownership, and responsible use and protection of information.
Funding Information
USAID intends to provide $12,000,000 in total USAID funding over a five (5) year period.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and Non-U.S. nongovernmental organizations may participate.
- USAID welcomes applications from organizations which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID.
- Organizations must have a politically neutral humanitarian mandate, a commitment to nondiscrimination with respect to beneficiaries and adherence to equal opportunity employment practices. Non-discrimination includes equal treatment without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, gender, and political affiliation.
- Applicants must have established financial management, monitoring and evaluation processes, internal control systems, and policies and procedures that comply with established U.S. Government standards, laws, and regulations.
- Applications will not be accepted from individuals.
