Deadline: 26 June 2017
USAID/Nicaragua is seeking assistance for a five-year program entitled “Lifting Nicaraguan Voices” (LNV) to support the existence of an independent Nicaraguan civil society to effectively advocate for democratic principles, processes, and institutions.
Funding Information
- Estimated Total Program Funding: $12,000,000
- Award Ceiling: $12,000,000
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. Non-Governmental non-profit organizations, US Private Voluntary Organizations (USPVOs) and US for profit organizations: U.S. Non-Governmental non-profit and U.S. private for- profit organizations may apply for funding under this NFO.
- U.S Colleges and Universities: US colleges and universities may apply for funding under this NFO. USAID generally treats colleges and universities as NGOs, rather than governmental organizations; hence, both public and private colleges and universities are eligible, except public colleges and universities in countries that are ineligible for assistance under the FAA or related appropriations acts.
- Note: However, that this NFO is focused on people-to people programming that addresses divisions within a community and is not intended to fund academic research.
- New Partners: USAID welcomes applications from US organizations which have not previously received financial assistance from USAID. However, resultant awards to these organizations may be delayed because USAID generally must conduct pre-award surveys of these organizations in order to make a risk assessment/responsibility determination.
- The eligibility requirement is restricted only to the prime Applicant but not to the sub-awardee which could be a Nicaraguan local organization.
