Victims of Crime Funding Call 2023 in Ireland

The Department of Justice is seeking applications for Victims of Crime (VOC) Funding 2023.

The Department of Justice provides support for organisations that work in the Victims of Crime (“VOC”) area, including provision of support, information and advice on the rights of victims, court accompaniment and other accompaniment.

The objective is to ensure that these services are available to all victims who need them and to a consistently high standard and throughout the State.Applications are invited from NGOs who work with victims to provide the appropriate services. The payment of the grant, related financial administration, reporting and any other regulatory requirements must be in compliance with Circular 13/2014 – Management and Accountability for Grant from Exchequer Funds.

Funding may also be provided to:

Minimise waiting times for the support needs of the victims of crimes and for the expansion of crime victim helplines.
Fund increased demand of services following VOC and Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence (DSGBV) awareness raising campaigns.
Allow frontline NGO services to develop expansion plans for additional counties, extend to other counties and allow for additional emergency services.
Expand accompaniment service in the light of increasing numbers of victims.
Ensure sufficiency of ongoing specialist support provision, support outreach work with victims of human trafficking and supporting those wishing to exit prostitution.
Assist may also be provided for NGO frontline services recruitment campaigns for volunteers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications must be received by the closing date and time will be subject to an initial check by the Funds Administration Unit to ensure that they are eligible for consideration. In order to be eligible applications must:
- Be submitted on time;
- Be submitted by an eligible applicant organisation;
- Is the application from a not-for-profit organisation such as a community group or a NGO organisation.
- Is it clear from the application that the proposed activities comply with the requirements.
- The organisation has not received a qualified set of accounts in the last 5 years.
- If the entity has received previous funding, have all reporting requirements been met.
- There are no other issues of concern.
- Be complete (i.e., all relevant sections completed);
- Be signed by a person authorised to submit the application on behalf of the applicant organisation.
