Voice Cambodia is currently inviting Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for its “Using the Moment: Cambodia Sudden Opportunity Grants” to undertake a joint action to address specific, unanticipated opportunities to influence policy in Cambodia, especially those that could have a ripple effect or that can impact one or more of Voice target groups in one or more of the impact themes.
It is an opportunity for strategic advocacy, coordination of CSOs and/collective action that can lead to change in legal decision, policy/laws, a shift in public attitudes and practices to challenge discrimination, promote equal access and opportunities, enhance social well-being, and/or encourage social development.
Funding Information
This grant is available from €5,000 to €200,000 for an intervention that will last between 6 and 12 months.
Impact Areas
- Improved access to (productive) resources (finance, land and water) and employment
- Improved access to social services, health and education in particular
- Space for political participation
Target Groups
- The project benefits at least one or more of the following target groups:
- People with disabilities
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-gender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI)
- Indigenous people and ethnic minorities
- With at least one of the following target groups as a cross-cutting issue:
- Age discriminated vulnerable groups notably the young or elderly
- Women facing exploitation, abuse and/or violence
Eligibility Criteria
- The organisation, or lead applicant in the case of a consortium, is a locally registered Cambodian organisation with a bank account in its own name.
- The applicant/co-applicant(s) (where application is by a consortium) recognise the core values of Voice being the equal rights for every human being regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious belief, disability, sexual orientation, social class and age.
How to Apply
- Take the eligibility test available on the given website.
- If applicants have passed the eligibility test, applicants need to send an email at the address given on the website to describe their collective action in 1 to 2 paragraphs. In this Email applicants needs to describe what the sudden opportunity is, the actions applicants intend to take, the actors undertaking the collective action, the amount needed and the duration.
- If the collective action meets the criteria of the grant, Voice will contact applicants to discuss further and send applicants an application form to complete.
