Women’s Fund for Women (WECF) and Women’s Fund in Georgia are currently inviting applicants for its grant competition “Strengthening Capacity of Women’s Groups and Organizations for Sustainable Development Goals”. The financial support of the grant competition is the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ), which is co-financed by the EU-supported program “Women 2030” (# Women2030).
The aim of the program “Women 2030” is to increase the involvement of NGOs and non-governmental organizations working on social and environmental justice in the advocacy of sustainable development goals. Advocacy involves encouraging women NGOs and women’s informal groups to respond to gender equality and environmental issues.
Grant Information
The maximum amount of grant amount is € 2000. Duration of the projects should not exceed 4 months.
Themes
The thematic trends of the competition include, but not limited to:
- Strengthening women and girls, promoting networking with their immediate participation in sustainable development goals;
- Feminist educational initiatives (workshops, training, etc.);
- Planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns for improving women’s rights, by lobbying legislation and policy;
- Raise awareness of decision-makers and budget advocacy on women’s rights and gender equality issues;
- Prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence by changing the policies, legislation and practice;
- Strengthening Evidence-Based Advocacy and Public / Community Monitoring / Accountability Systems (including Budget Monitoring)
- The protection of women’s rights groups in the form of some forms of discrimination (LBT women, disabled women, mothers of children with disabilities, women of ethnic and religious minorities etc.)
Criteria
- In the grant competition “Strengthening Capacity of Women’s Groups and Organizations, Participation in Sustainable Development Goals” can:
- Local registered NGOs for women;
- Unregistered women’s groups, whose main direction is protection of women’s and girls’ rights and issues related to them;
- Organizations working on women’s issues and who are guided by women.
- Priority will be given to LGBTQ community and ethnic minority initiatives, as well as organizations / groups working in the region.
