Deadline: 30-Aug-2024
Applications are now open for Yass Valley Council’s Local Heritage Grants Program, with $20,000 in funding available for heritage conservation projects.
Local Heritage Grants aim to contribute to the preservation of structures of historical value and to foster positive attitudes towards heritage and conservation.
The Yass Main Street Masterplan has been adopted, and building owners in the main street of Yass are strongly encouraged to apply this year to complement this project. Projects may include painting, restoration repairs to awnings or removal of redundant signage – projects that will improve the appearance and heritage values of the Yass Main Street.
Funding Information
- There is an upper limit of $4,000 for each Local Heritage Grant and in each case the grant must not total more than 50 per cent of the cost of the project or initiative.
Eligibility Criteria
- Landowners and community organisations and groups based in the Yass Valley Local Government Area that are managing listed Heritage items, or properties within Heritage Conservation areas in the Yass Valley are eligible to apply for Local Heritage Grants.
- Local Heritage Grants are not available for the retrospective financing of projects.
- Local Heritage Grants must be expended in the financial year in which they are received and only for the purpose approved by Council.
