The Zambia Society Trust offers grants to a small number of students to pursue further studies on completion of their secondary education.

Funding Information

The maximum grant awarded for each complete year of study is usually ZK15,000.00.
Grants are awarded for a maximum period of 2 years and the final two years only will be supported of a longer course. Applications for grants for more than 2 years will not be considered.

Open Call: Green Recycling Enterprises Engaging in New Technology for a Circular Economy in Zambia

The Green Recycling Enterprises Engaging in New Technology for a Circular Economy in Zambia (GREEN Tech4CE) project is a € 22.7 million initiative funded by the European Union. The Project is based on a collaboration with the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment (MoGEE), the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MoSME), the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MoCTI) and the Ministry of Technology and Science (MoTS) as well as with representatives of the private sector, such as the Zambia Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), Business Development Service Providers Association of Zambia (BDSPAZ), Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ), Zambia Association of Manufacturing (ZAM) and National Advisory Body of Impact Investors (NABII) amongst other private sector actors.

Funding Information

The Project has been designed to provide financial support to enterprises through grants and prizes amounting to EUR 15.7m. This amount will be disbursed through several calls during the lifespan of the project.

Eligibility Criteria

There are three sets of eligibility and all three must be fulfilled to be eligible the actors:
The applicant, i.e. enterprises with annual turnover ranging from EUR150,000 to EUR2,500,00 and financier/investor backed Startups with a minimum annual turnover of EUR20,000. The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) through the Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project Phase II (ZATP II) is inviting Business Proposals from Cooperatives/Producer Organisations and Farmer Associations with innovative concepts or ideas with high potential for developmental impact, climate resilience and financial sustainability.

Targeted Beneficiaries

Producer Organisations (POs) such as Cooperatives, Cooperative Unions, District Business Associations, District Farmers’ Associations, and Community Based Organisations that have Business Registration.
