Deadline: 17 November 2025
The World Food Programme has launched a new opportunity to strengthen food security and agricultural development in Burkina Faso, focusing on the Sahel region, particularly the Liptako area.
This initiative is part of WFP’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agriculture and improve the livelihoods of small-scale producers in one of the country’s most vulnerable zones.
The initiative includes an indicative budget of 100,000 which reflects the preliminary financial framework for the proposed interventions. Further details regarding budget allocation and funding structure will be clarified in the official call for proposals.
Through this call for proposals, WFP seeks a qualified non-profit organization, such as an NGO or development association, to partner in advancing agricultural and agri-food production technologies. The selected partner will work closely with producer organizations to build their technical and organizational capacity, improve access to agricultural inputs, and promote efficient agri-food processing. By supporting these groups, the program aims to empower local communities to manage their resources more effectively and increase productivity in a sustainable way.
This initiative also aligns with the national vision of the Government of Burkina Faso, which emphasizes the importance of developing local expertise in agricultural and agro-industrial equipment. It reinforces WFP’s commitment to supporting national priorities and strategies focused on food sovereignty, resilience building, and the strengthening of local systems. The program’s focus on promoting locally designed and produced agricultural tools highlights the importance of sustainable, homegrown solutions to food security challenges.
Interested organizations must be registered and operational in Burkina Faso, with proven experience in agricultural technology development and community capacity building. The chosen partner will play a key role in improving the technical and material capacities of local producer organizations, ensuring that small farmers have the tools and knowledge needed to sustain their livelihoods. This opportunity represents a vital step toward empowering rural communities and fostering long-term agricultural resilience in the Sahel region.
