Introduced in 2005, Meena Media Award has stepped into the 15th year in 2019. The award recognizes excellence in promoting children’s issues in the media. Submissions are solicited from Bangladeshi citizens working with print, electronic and online media in two different age groups: Under-18 and 18 & above.
News, articles, features, news photographs published in print/online media and news/programmes broadcast by radio and television that investigate and explore into children’s issues or provide healthy entertainment for children are eligible to compete for the award.
Entries are invited in seven categories. Entries should be published/broadcast between May 01, 2018 and April 30, 2019.

Conditions and guidelines for participation in the competition:
- Submitted topics will be published / disseminated from 01 May to 01 May of 019 April 30.
- In order to apply for print / online media, applicant’s report or creative writing will be uploaded as well as the scan copy of the published text and the name of the media that has been published or online link should be given.
- In the case of the application in Visual Media, applicant’s report or creative program has been broadcasted in the same way as the video is uploaded to the MPEG4 / MP4 format via Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, YouTube or any other online link. However, this link must be valid until September 30, 2019.
- In order to apply the radio medium, applicant’s report or creative program will be shared in the same manner as the audio is uploaded to Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, YouTube or any other online via the link. However, this link must be valid till September 30, 2019.
- In applicant’s application for news photography, their picture will be uploaded in the same way as the scan copy and the name of the media that has been published. With the original image to be uploaded in JPG format.
- If the application is incomplete, the incompetence of participation can be considered / canceled.
- Only finalists will be contacted with nominees. Unwanted advertising will not be acceptable, but the incompetence of participation can be considered / canceled.
- Participant can submit a maximum of three reports or creative shows / articles or photographs published / promoted in one category. However, one will be considered for the prize.
- UNICEF has the right to make all kinds of decisions at all levels of this award.
