Deadline: 23 November 2025
The Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs is requesting applications for its Cultural and Scientific Projects to collaborate financially in activities and projects that promote Spanish Culture and Science in the United Kingdom.
The general objectives focus on strengthening Spain’s cultural and scientific presence in the United Kingdom by promoting its traditions, innovation, diversity, professionalism, and creativity, while expanding the knowledge and economic value of the Spanish language across cultural industries and digital platforms.
Priority will be given to projects that promote Spanish activities across the UK, organize scientific events on key global issues, support Hispanic Studies, collaborate with major British institutions, foster intergenerational dialogue and inclusivity, leverage special commemorations for wider public engagement, enhance digital and multimedia creation, and promote public-private partnerships, especially with Spanish companies in the UK.
The Office welcomes proposals that align with these objectives and priorities to promote Spanish culture and science throughout the United Kingdom. Applicants are expected to have an established track record in organizing well-supported cultural and scientific projects.
Projects should be highly visible and include a communication and promotion plan to evaluate future coverage in local and national media and audience impact. Proposals should aim to be open to the widest possible audience, emphasize collaboration and sponsorship with the Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs during the project, and clearly relate to Spain in the chosen policy areas. Collaboration with other Spanish institutions is also encouraged.
Financial support will primarily be formalized through a Sponsorship Contract, although other collaboration methods may be explored based on project nature. Authorized costs include production and preproduction expenses, venue hiring, translation costs, fees for artists or speakers, and promotional expenses.
However, funding will not be directed toward restoration of art pieces, installation of commemorative plaques, awards, grants, scholarships, publications, private receptions, research and development, or employee salaries. The requested amount of financial collaboration must be stated in GBP.
This call is open to cultural and scientific persons and institutions, both Spanish and British, with projects to be implemented across the United Kingdom. The collaboration of the Office for Cultural and Scientific Affairs will be determined according to project nature, distribution, and other contributions obtained from public or private institutions.
Applicants can submit proposals for individual events or series of related activities. Multiple proposals from a single applicant are permitted, provided each application form and estimated budget is completed separately.
Activities taking place between February and June 2026 are subject to the financial availability of the office. Successful applicants will be required to submit a report after project completion, detailing the development and results of the activities.
The deadline for submission is Sunday, 23rd November 2025, with projects scheduled for implementation between 15th February and 15th December 2026.
