Applications are invited from women and other gender-focused organizations for the second intake of Vibrant Voices Program. The program is focused on capacity building of women members of organizations by using smartphones to produce video/audio stories of women and girls in their community to disseminate them through social media and web platform to build meaningful advocacy for gender justice and equality.
‘Vibrant Voices’ is an innovative program designed by Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) under the Media Empowerment for a Democratic Sri Lanka (MEND) program in partnership with International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) with the support of USAID.
The program aims to widen the space for women and other gender issues in the media content by using new and social media tools. The selected members of the organization will undergo structural intensive training on using a smartphone to capture the issues of women and other gender groups, storytelling techniques, video/audio editing, social media tools and techniques, digital advocacy tactics and more.
Grant Information
Each selected organization will receive a production grant up to Rs. 100,000 to produce 6 appealing stories of women issues in their respective area. In addition, the Vibrant Voices participants will receive in-house mentorship and coaching to shape their technical skills further. Most successful participants will receive an opportunity to tell their experience in a TV show.
Eligibility Criteria
Women’s organizations that are committed to address issues affecting women and other gender groups, to promote women’s leadership, economic empowerment and actively advocate for gender and justice.
