The Agriculture Victoria is pleased to announce the applications for Rural Women’s Network Mentoring Program 2023, a 12-month program supporting up to 16 women to work together in pairs to develop their skills and confidence and grow their capacity to participate in leadership and decision making that benefits rural industries and communities.
With the support of a skilled facilitator, mentoring pairs will assist each other to:
- Reflect on their values, strengths and opportunities for development,
- Identify challenges in their personal or professional lives,
- Explore opportunities for career progression or business development,
- Articulate goals and implement positive change with accountability and support,
- Form new relationships and expand their networks with other rural women.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for either program, applicants must be:
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident;
- A woman who currently resides in regional or rural Victoria;
- Involved or interested in the Victorian agriculture sector and/or the Victorian agriculture supply chain; and
- Able to confirm their availability for the duration of the Program as set out in the table of Program Dates.
Requirements of Participants
- Program participants should expect to undertake the following:
- Complete all relevant Program Enrolment and Evaluation requirements, including after the conclusion of the Program through follow-up surveys;
- Be accountable for their participation by making every effort to attend each Workshop and Mentoring Session as scheduled, and undertaking individual tasks in their own time;
- Seek to be a valuable partner to their mentor and the broader group of program participants by listening, encouraging, and respecting the confidentiality of all program participants;
- Supply any documentation required for Expenses Reimbursement claims to be processed;
- Participate in Rural Women’s Network activities where possible to share learnings and experiences with other rural women;
- Participate in a respectful, constructive, collaborative and collegiate manner which lends support to the development of all participants, without jeopardising the psychological safety of other participants or staff.
- As program placements are awarded on a competitive basis, participants are expected to make every effort to attend all noted Program dates, complete all individual tasks, and to notify Departmental staff if their availability changes.
