The 2023 call for applications for the European Union’s “Young Professionals in Delegation” program (JPD) is open.
The JPD program allows the completion of a high-level internship (for 12 months, renewable once) within a European Union delegation abroad (assignment to the EEAS) or to the services of the Commission. European Union (aid management, trade, economy, etc.).
The program is aimed at candidates motivated by the missions of the delegations of the European Union or the European Commission. After this high-level internship, the young professionals will have a very good knowledge of the external action of the European Union and the working methods of the European institutions.
Funding Information
- JPDs are entitled to the payment of a monthly remuneration consisting of:
- a scholarship of EUR 2,000;
- a housing contribution set at EUR 1,500;
- a contribution intended to compensate for the difficult living conditions in certain countries and in addition to the allowances mentioned above – it varies from 10 to 30% depending on the living conditions allowance (ICV) in a delegation (ICV table ).
- In addition, JPDs will be granted:
- an installation contribution of EUR 2,340 at the start of the internship;
- a contribution to travel costs of EUR 2,926 for each traineeship period;
- a contribution of EUR 1,800 towards insurance costs for each traineeship period.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only applications which strictly respect all the criteria indicated below are taken into account. No exceptions will be granted.
- The program is aimed at profiles who show great interest and strong motivation for the mission entrusted to the delegations of the European Union.
- Diploma: Candidates must have, on the closing date for applications, at least a university degree equivalent to a master’s degree in a field relevant to the activities of the delegation ( list of accepted diplomas ).
- Age: candidates must be between 22 years old minimum (on the closing date for applications 01/31/2023) and 35 years old maximum (on 31/12/2022).
- Language skills: fluency in English required. Knowledge of other EU languages or a relevant third language is an advantage.
- Professional experience: only applications with a maximum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience for the program will be considered, of which a maximum of one (1) year with the EEAS, the Commission, another institution or another body of the EU.
