Are you a reporter who wants to dig deeper? Can you team up with others to explore a story from various perspectives? Do you feel that complex research doesn’t stop at borders? If yes, then apply for the grant “Reporters in the Field”.
Applications are open for the program “Reporters in the Field” that promotes research projects by media professionals from all over Europe.
The program aims to foster international dialogue and understanding. Selected teams will receive funding, training and mentoring for their research, and become part of our Reporters in the Field Network. They will meet up in a workshop in Berlin, from November 17-19, 2017, to exchange with experts and like minded fellows.
The program is hosted by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, carried out by n-ost. It includes research workshops in Berlin at which the program fellows will meet with distinguished journalists to discuss their projects and current issues in the field of foreign reporting.
Funding Information
Grants of up to 5,000 € to international teams who want to realize a cross-border and in depth research on a story of their choice.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Find an original topic that works for cross-border journalism and is of relevance in Europe.
- Be teams with at least one professional, freelance or staff journalist, who works for an established media outlet (print, broadcast, web, or cross-media), are eligible. Team members from different corners and layers of society (e.g. photographers, scientists) are also welcome! No age limit applies.
- Be based in at least two of the following countries: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Kingdom.
