Sydney Water, through its annual Community Grants Program, supports local community groups across Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, and the Illawarra area.
Program Themes and Principles
- The 2023 Community Grants Program is seeking projects focused on Water Conservation in the Community.
- Population growth, climate change, climate variability and drought are ongoing challenges for water in the cities. They need to adopt more sustainable approaches in how they use water efficiently to respond to these challenges and build cooler and greener communities.
- Through this grant their objective is to support community initiatives that help build water resilience in your local area through activities such as:
- Building local capability, skills, and knowledge about water conservation
- Engaging people in community activities designed to increase water conservation
- Delivering drought resistant community greening projects
- Finding ways to utilise water more efficiently in the local community and implementing change
- Capturing and using alternate water sources like stormwater, rainwater, and recycled water
- The collaborations between Sydney Water and successful grant recipients may be used to inform future education and grants programs.
