Call for Applications: Data Driven Journalism Training (Nepal)

CMR Nepal Journalism Academy in collaboration with Germany’s Interlink Academy has announced applications for Data Driven Journalism training for Nepali journalists in Kathmandu.
Journalists selected for training will be provided with training fees, food during the training period and fellowship for accommodation for journalists outside Kathmandu Valley.
What are the subjects of the training ?
The training in Nepali language will include the following topics:
- Data in journalism
- Working with data: calculations and filtering
- Data Visualization: graphs, charts and maps
- Data sources and formats
- Data scrapping and cleaning
- Making sense of the huge data
- Live tables, graphs and maps
- Data-driven stories

WWF Nepal Memorial Scholarships

World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) Nepal calls for applications for WWF Memorial Scholarships 2023/24 from promising Nepali students who intend to pursue careers in the field of nature conservation.
WWF, the global conservation organization leading international efforts for a living planet, instituted the WWF Memorial Scholarships in honor of the late conservation leaders who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter accident near Ghunsa, Taplejung on 23rd September 2006.
Students may put in their applications for more than one scholarship based on relevancy and criteria.

UNDP Nepal in partnership UNHCR Nepal will observe IWD under the theme, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”, will organize National and Provincial Poetry Competition (Fifth Edition).
International Women’s Day (IWD) is observed globally every year on 8 March. The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023 (IWD 2024) is, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress” and take a stand with them using the hashtag #InvestInWomen. This theme is aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-68), accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective.

The Laerdal Foundation is accepting applications to provide financial support to practically oriented research to prevent needless deaths from sudden cardiac arrest, trauma, and during birth.
Funding Information
The Board expects to fund up to 20 projects per year in this category, with a maximum amount of USD 50,000, with the average grant being around USD 30,000.

Call for Proposals: Collaborative Engagement with Civil Society on Climate Action
