The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is seeking applications for its program “Food for Progress Program” with an aim to improve agricultural production and expand trade of agricultural products in developing countries.
This program provides for the donation of U.S. agricultural commodities as well as financial and technical assistance to carry out programs with these goals.
Priority Areas
FAS will give priority consideration to proposed projects that
- Expand domestic, regional, or international markets and trade through private sector participation,
- leverage public or private sector resources in order to achieve lasting impact and
- offer weather resilient solutions in the activities.

- Award Ceiling: $35,000,000
- Award Floor: $10,000,000
Priority Countries
Andean and Central American Region (Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Peru), Cambodia, Egypt, Georgia, Kenya, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Tunisia
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations eligible to apply include foreign governments, intergovernmental organizations, private voluntary organizations, cooperatives and nongovernmental organizations.
- Public universities, including their subsidiaries, are not eligible to apply.
